Who am I. Well I am going to stay anonymous initially but I will tell you a little about me.
30ish yrs in the IT industry most of it working for a large Fortune 100 company but the last 10 working for startups whose main focus is not IT but IT is essential to its success and staying ahead of the competition.
I have had the opportunity to work in Europe and the USA.
I have worked closely with customers from R&D to Manufacturing to Marketing.
One of my earliest projects was to work with a team to map the entire business process out, end to end, we managed to cut about 7% off the length of the process through optimisation of process.
I have led Content and Collaboration projects and now lead the overall group responsible for everything from Strategy to Implementation and Support for our global collaboration offerings that span both inside and outside the enterprise. Current offerings are used by over 140,000 users, with over 70TB of active collaboration content.
I have first hand experience with delivering Collaboration solutions using Microsoft and Google technologies.
I strongly believe in connecting people to people through data, whether it be content they are working on, data they have published or through common actions including searches, tagging, etc.
To me an organisation is most effective when the boundaries of department, division, country, language, etc. are (safely) removed. And technology is the eraser for those boundaries !
